Metropolitan Police Station, The Causeway, Potters Bar
Built 1891

The 1825 Census shows a William Parish living at Potters Bar Police Station. His Occupation is shown as 'Metropolitan Police Constable'.

1901 Census shows a William Chandler living in High Street, Potters Bar. Occupation shown as Metropolitan Police Constable.

In 1925 was part of 'Y' Division of the Metropolitan Police. In 1925 The Station Sergeant was Sergeant David Partner assisted by Sergeants Hubert Porter and Phillip Phillips. James Cryan and Stephen Church were Acting Sergeants assisted by 14 Constables!

The Hertsmere area of the Metropolitan Police covering Potters Bar, South Mimms, Borehamwood, Bushey and its surrounding villages was superceeded to the Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2001 and Potters Bar is now part of 'J' Division', station code 'J3' within Hertfordshires Central Area. Officers who patrol Potters Bar now parade out of Borehamwood Police Station. Officers from the Potters Bar Community Team and Probationer Training Unit are the only officers now based at Potters Bar.

Built 1847

In 1925 was part of the 'S' Division of the Metropolitan Police. In 1925 Sergeants Leanord Worth, Frederick Jardine and Charles Haines were shown to be based at South Mimms assisted by 9 Constables! South Mimms Police Station exists today as a residential premises.
